DaDa Cosmetics

Intended as a project to create a marketable product that coincides with an art style, movement, or artist, DaDa cosmetics alludes to prominent artists and styles of that movement. The goal of the project was to create the brand using our photographing and editing skills. and I found showcasing “out there” makeup looks with the branding of DaDa could be a fun approach.

About My Inspirations

When looking at photographers from the DaDa movement, one that caught my eye in particular was the work of Man Ray. I found a dreamlike essence in his work that I wanted to tap into in my own work, but make it to where it feels complimentary to DaDa cosmetics. Bellow are a couple of the final designs I made for the packaging of the aforementioned beauty products.

DADA goes live

After completing the project for my visual concept and image making course, I was tasked with creating a motion graphic for the brand that brought it to life and furthered its branding. My inspiration, drawn mainly from the work of the Dada collage style, was showcased through a “montaged sketchbook” look with cut out letters and images from the original photoshoot.
